Jackrabbits slap Bobcats 39-13

BOWIE — The Bowie Jackrabbits raced out to a 21-0 first quarter lead and never looked back in a 39-13 win over the Childress Bobcats Friday at Bowie Field.
The loss drops the Bobcats to 1-1 on the season while the win improved Bowie to 1-1.
The Jackrabbits hurt the Bobcats both through the air and on the ground racking up 472 yards including 282 on the ground and 190 in the air.
CHS hurt themselves further with five turnovers including three interceptions and two fumbles while only managing 143 total yards.
Bowie was led by Mason Wheeler with 138 yards on eight carries including an 83-yard touchdown run while Aaron Chokas added 97 yards on eight carries including an 84-yard touchdown. Chokas also split time at quarterback completing 4-6 passes for 89 yards and a touchdown and he also caught a touchdown from Zac Dunnam. Dunnam completed 12-16 passes for 112 yards.
The Bobcats were led by Davy Salazar with 46 yards 16 carries. Quarterback Jordan Bledsoe completed 9-18 passes for 95 yards with a touchdown and three interceptions.
